Q & A with Matt Martin
Q: What do you like most about southern pest control?
A: The opportunity for advancement and appreciation of hard work. If you work hard and give it 100% you can go far in this company.

Q: How has Southern Pest Control helped you in your career development?
A: I’ve become very flexible and able to do things outside of my comfort zone. Working here you find yourself dealing with a wide variety of situations and customers so you have to stay on your toes.

Q: What is the favorite part about working for Southern Pest Control?
A: I enjoy traveling all over Hampton roads, working outside, and not being stationary for my work day. I also enjoy all the different types of people I meet throughout the day. We have some very interesting customers and I enjoy interacting with them.

Q: What does true leadership mean to you?
A: To me true leadership means leading from the front or leading by example. Anybody can tell people what to do and just expect results but a true leader will guide you along the way.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, riding my bike, playing XBOX, and I play ice hockey in a adult recreational league.

Q: What advice would you give to recent new hires?
A: I would tell them to keep pushing forward. This job can be overwhelming at first but if you ride out that early storm it gets easier as time goes on. I was just where you were at 5 years ago and look how far I’ve come, if you are willing to work hard you will make it here.

Q: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
A: Most people are surprised when I tell them I’m originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and I love playing ice hockey even though I come from a desert climate.
