Beware of Door-to-Door

It’s important that our customers and other homeowners are aware of pest control companies that employ Door-to-Door sales tactics. Not only do these companies send sales representatives into neighborhoods to sell pest control services, but their sales reps can also be intrusive, annoying, and disruptive. Furthermore, there are serious issues that homeowners need to be aware of concerning companies who sell pest control services door-to-door.

  1. A door-to-door sales rep will use high pressure sales techniques to get a homeowner to sign a contract for pest control services.
  2. Definitely read any contract presented by a door-to-door salesperson so you’re clear what services they’re offering and what the total cost is. The sales pitch and price are often too good to be true.
  3. In spite of what they tell you, the door-to-door sales rep is not a licensed pest control applicator and cannot legally provide pest control service. At Southern/Sovereign Pest Control, we believe that a homeowner should only sign a contract for Pest Control services after an inspection from a technician who is licensed by the State Department of Agriculture.
  4. Many homeowners will succumb to high pressure sales techniques, then decide soon after that they want to cancel the contract. If you end up signing a contract, be aware that it may contain terms that won’t permit you to cancel it.
  5.
