Beware of Door-to-Door
It’s important that our customers and other homeowners are aware of pest control companies that employ Door-to-Door sales tactics. Not only do these companies send sales representatives into neighborhoods to sell pest control services, but their sales reps can also be intrusive, annoying, and disruptive. Furthermore, there are serious issues that homeowners need to be aware of concerning companies who sell pest control services door-to-door.
- A door-to-door sales rep will use high pressure sales techniques to get a homeowner to sign a contract for pest control services.
- Definitely read any contract presented by a door-to-door salesperson so you’re clear what services they’re offering and what the total cost is. The sales pitch and price are often too good to be true.
- In spite of what they tell you, the door-to-door sales rep is not a licensed pest control applicator and cannot legally provide pest control service. At Southern/Sovereign Pest Control, we believe that a homeowner should only sign a contract for Pest Control services after an inspection from a technician who is licensed by the State Department of Agriculture.
- Many homeowners will succumb to high pressure sales techniques, then decide soon after that they want to cancel the contract. If you end up signing a contract, be aware that it may contain terms that won’t permit you to cancel it.
- Last, but not least, we encourage all customers of Southern and Sovereign Pest Control to contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-394-4737 (Option 2) if they are approached by a door-to-door sales rep from a competitor. I have been a customer for a few years. Last year after multiple appointments I had to buy some bug spray myself because whatever this company was using was not effective. I gave the company the benefit of the doubt and renewed my contract with them this year. Big mistake. After renewal I had one technician no show with no phone call saying they weren't coming. Then the next technician was 30 minutes late and argued with me because he didn't want to treat the inside of the house. He literally refused to spray the entire house and did less than half of the inside. Save your money and go elsewhere.

we signed up for a 2 year contract and have had to call them back out once and am going to call them and schedule them again within the last 6 months. within 2 weeks of them spraying we have spider webs all over our house and porch again.the first time we used them 2 years ago we signed up for a year they were great they came out and sprayed the first time and we didn't see any spiders or bugs anywhere and they automatically came out every couple of months to respray.I don't know if they changed what they use or what but it isn't working.

I'm a new customer. I talked with a number of pest control companies to determine which one to contract services for my new home. I found Pam from the Richmond area office courteous, knowledgeable, and patient with my questions. Probably most impressive was her obvious depth of experience and knowledge about the pest control industry. It didn't hurt that Southern also had competitive prices. Everyone is pleasant, and helpful, which makes working with Southern Pest Control an enjoyable experience . I have , however come to know and appreciate the quality of work from one individual who always goes above and beyond. He is Jr Smith. In fact, I find myself requesting him by name when service. I do this because I know how dependable, reliable, and knowledgeable he is from past experience. Not only does he take control of the situation but he takes the time to provide me information to understand the nature of the past we're dealing with and useful tips on how to deal with them. He does this with plain speech so that even a novice like myself can get a grasp of each and every situation. He's never fail us and each time I find myself making a request when I call for service... "please will you send Junior out." I have been a Southern Pest Control customer for over twenty years. They were the company that did the construction termite treatment on our new home. We continue with them each year as they come out for the annual termite inspection. They leave insect traps inside and treat the outside areas to keep bugs out of the house. Whenever I called about an insect problem they quickly scheduled a technician visit to take care of the issue. That is the reason twenty plus years and counting I’m still and will continue to be a Southern Pest Control customer.

Southern Pest Control has been protecting our home from termites for almost 40 years. For a reasonable price they inspect the home annually and come at no additional charge with any pest concern. This year I called them to check for mice outside and then a different time for spiders inside. They cheerfully schedule a convenient time and always make me feel like a valued customer. They are responsive, easy to schedule, and come back if there is a 'pest' issue. For us, it's little ants. But is is afirming to know we dont have termites or other major issues. I've used for termite inspection since building the home 17 years ago. This Company was the original firm that installed the termite bearer around the home. I used to have the pest service, but they were not very good. All that was done was bug and mice traps left around the house and in the garage. I've used another service that is excellent and a lot cheaper that comes out quarterly.

We've used Southern Pest for over 25 years and been extremely pleased about our third year, we experienced a termite issue. SP immediately came out, repaired the damage, and implemented a mitigation strategy that has resulted in no recurrence. Ant problems have periodically occurred and SP comes out immediately to spray and lay traps. In all these years they have been prompt, courteous, and effective.

I have used Southern Pest Control for over 20 years. Originally contracted with them for termite inspection when I purchased my home. I now use them for my annual termite inspection and quarterly insect control and extermination. I have also used them for exterminating field mice that have gotten into my home. Although their on-line scheduling process can present some challenges if you are not accustomed to it, scheduling by phone is always a breeze. They commit to an on-time guarantee and have never failed. The exterminators are professional and will take care of your problem(s) before they leave. I highly recommend Southern Pest Control.

The pest control reps are very efficient. One in particular I should mention is David. He has been here the most. He understands my phobia of those big outdoor bugs that somehow got in and he suggested that maintenance get the front doors fixed to better try to keep them out. That has been done. David also went to look up in the attic and when he stepped on the bottom rung, it broke. I do hope he is ok. They fixed that too and the young maintenance guy went up and made sure there was nothing up there like mice, squirrels, etc. making a home!I appreciate that you can come out when I see something! So far so good! Not even spiders! But then it is getting colder! The big test of the doors will be next Spring/Summer.Thanks again for being there for me!
