Beware of Door-to-Door Sales Tactics
It’s important that our customers and other homeowners are aware of pest control companies that employ Door-to-Door sales tactics. Not only do these companies send sales representatives into neighborhoods to sell pest control services, but their sales reps can also be intrusive, annoying, and disruptive. Furthermore, there are serious issues that homeowners need to be aware of concerning companies who sell pest control services door-to-door.
- A door-to-door sales rep will use high pressure sales techniques to get a homeowner to sign a contract for pest control services.
- Definitely read any contract presented by a door-to-door salesperson so you’re clear what services they’re offering and what the total cost is. The sales pitch and price are often too good to be true.
- In spite of what they tell you, the door-to-door sales rep is not a licensed pest control applicator and cannot legally provide pest control service. At Southern/Sovereign Pest Control, we believe that a homeowner should only sign a contract for Pest Control services after an inspection from a technician who is licensed by the State Department of Agriculture.
- Many homeowners will succumb to high pressure sales techniques, then decide soon after that they want to cancel the contract. If you end up signing a contract, be aware that it may contain terms that won’t permit you to cancel it.
- Last, but not least, we encourage all customers of Southern and Sovereign Pest Control to contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-394-4737 (Option 2) if they are approached by a door-to-door sales rep from a competitor. To them finding wood borers and taking care of that major problem with no new outbreaks at all. To them two B ago finding termites trying to get through in my garage. That was taken care of with my contract with them, no additional cost to me. I have a great inspector named Matt. He came out today and gave me a fantastic report. My house looks great. Lately, Dejuan has come to our house monthly to ensure we keep up the pest free standard we have had and he has been an absolute pleasure to work with. We have had a few pest control companies over the past few decades. Switched to Southern Pest Control a few years ago after learning about it from a friend. BEST move I ever made! Our technicians, Garett and Chelsea, are always on time (no windows of time!) and are friendly, professional, informative, honest, and thorough. I used Southern pest control almost for 3 years started from my previous place i used to lived and still carry them to my new moved in place as well but somehow whatever they use it never solve the issue i still have bugs and mainly spider all over my house, i had to call them pretty much every month and over year and the second year now still have same issue and manager came by one time and supposed to come next time to check but never come because he was busy and could not match with schedule and i did not mind to someone else to come. Anyhow finally due to my living situation i may had to move and on Sept i spoke with Anthony to cancelling my service staring from Oct and possible to carry them to my new place depending on where i move in he said that is totally fine and confirmed my account has been cancelled with no outstanding balance or due. But very next day lady Lori called said they not going to cancel it i have to pay cancellation fee of if i remember correctly she said around $156 i think, and i told her that Anthony cancelled my account she goes not anymore, that made me very very disappointed after all this time of been loyal customer and told her, that i had all those issue previously but i was still with their company every excuse they gave me due to the bugs and spiders never solved and i was very understanding patiently hopping that bugs spider issue will be gone which it never and i will have all type of spider in my kids room everywhere very sad that my kid has to deal with spider and screaming scared. if i knew i will be treated this way shouldn’t have kept the servers over time to time spending my money every month still dealing with spider and bugs not happy but only reason holding me with them was all technicians are very nice and over the years knew them and i can trust, unfortunately i had to get it cancelled but having issue.she said will check and have my manager know i said ok check your notes that i been calling pretty much every moth with same issue she said ok.I had issue with mice, and they were supposed to come back on 10.10.2024 but they never showed up!i was assuming my account has cancelled probably that why they did not come i have no problem since i asked to cancel.But Lori called today 10.14.2024 said returning my call and i asked her to confirm make sure my account has cancelled she said no it is not cancelled if you want to cancel, it will be $74 per her manager or have to continue to have the service, which not fare, i asked to speak with manager she told me to email her i asked her to have manager call me, i still have not hear back.

When wood roaches began to frequent my house, both outside and inside, I called Southern Pest Control. For years they have provided me with termite inspections, but I had never asked for a home service plan for pest control. I spoke with such a thoughtful and responsive administrator who not only arranged a policy but also sent out to the house the world's nicest man, Linwood. He couldn't have been more helpful. Not only was he knowledgeable and very quickly aware of my aversion to cockroaches, but he was also aware of my concerns about my dog and pesticides. He eased my mind, explained the process thoroughly, and spent a good deal of time examining the perimeter of the house before applying his pest controls. His skill and care were exacting and thoughtful.If you ever need pest control, this is the company to contact. And if you want the best and most knowledgeable individual to come and help you out, ask for Linwood! He rocks!

I have been calling this company for over a month for an additional service as I have seen every type of bug in my home just one week after my schedule spray. The customer service line can never reach my local Richmond office...I'm not sure there is a Richmond office. Definitely regret changing to this company. Helpful tip...if you are in Richmond or the surrounding area go with a more reliable company not this one.

We absolutely love Southern Pest Control! They always do a GREAT job! Matt did our latest service and it was great! My family has 3 cats so we prefer to stay in the house after they spray. We just stay upstairs and they spray downstairs! They are always accommodating to our needs and never make us feel like an inconvenience.

Our neighbor alerted us to a huge wasp nest that was attached to an outside window on our home. We have a pest contract with Southern Pest so called them. That very same day they sent Devante Trent to us and he was AWESOME! He bravely sprayed the huge nest and then knocked it all to the ground and finished killing all the eggs. We are glad to have chosen Southern Pest and recommend their services to friends and family often. They have been protecting us and our home from pests for 25 years. Not only have we never had an out-of-control infestation, but they come out to retreat the yard whenever we suspect an infestation is imminent. They always show up on time and are professional, personable, and courteous. Communication is easy, whether it be over the phone or in person. And most importantly, NO FREAKING BUGS! 😁 Most recently, I was highly impressed once again when my tech Matt came out for a scheduled renewal inspection and treatment, (even though we had torrential downpours and the city of Suffolk had issued a severe weather warning). He showed up right on time with a big smile and and just shrugged about the rain, like it wasn't a thing. He went about his inspection and treatment smoothly and efficiently, and even took his time to engage in a little conversation, despite it being the last appointment of the day when he no doubt (but didn't let on) wanted to get home to his family and dry clothes. STELLAR customer service, and top-of-the-line treatments.Oh and did I mention? NO FREAKING BUGS!! 😁 Love these guys ...HIGHLY recommend! 😊
