  • The adult house mouse is small, slender and about 1-2 inches long, not counting the tail. The house mouse has large ears, pointed nose and small eyes.
  • The fur color varies, but it is usually a light grey or brown but could be darker shades.
  • Check for droppings (rod shaped, pointed ends and are about 1/8 – 1/4″ long) where food is stored (pantry & kitchen cabinets), beneath sinks, inside chewed cardboard boxes and along baseboards.
  • Be on the lookout for gnaw marks. Mice can cause serious damage by chewing through plastic, pipes and wiring.
  • Mice build their nests in secluded dark areas using shredded paper products, cotton, insulation and fabrics.
  • Do you hear strange noises in your walls, especially at night? They are more active at night.
  • Due to their nocturnal nature, mice are rarely seen by the homeowner.
  • Mice reproduce several times within a year giving birth to scores of offspring. Don’t delay. If you think you have a rodent infestation, contact a licensed pest control exterminator to inspect the home.
